Sexually violent predator leaves halfway house

According to DPS, Fernando Thompson is wanted after he absconded from his halfway house in Austin

Authorities said Thompson, 57, removed his GPS monitor and has not been located since. Thompson could be driving a silver 1997 Chevrolet Lumina with Texas plates GCL5976.

Thompson was judged a sexually violent predator after a 1982 conviction of aggravated rape of a child in Jefferson County, Texas. He was remanded to the civil commitment program for sexually violent predators.
