'She is our light:' Chick-fil-A staff and guests join in prayer for team member undergoing surgery

BELMONT, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Life is full of beautiful moments, but sometimes those beautiful moments happen in the most unexpected places. In this instance, it happened in a fast food restaurant.

An entire Chick-fil-A store fell silent in prayer for a team member who was undergoing cancer surgery.

Ms. Trish, works in the dining room at the Chick-fil-A in Belmont, NC and had been diagnosed with breast cancer. On Friday afternoon, she was scheduled for surgery.

Around her surgery time, her co-workers paused what they were doing to say a little prayer for Ms. Trish. They invited any of the Chick-fil-A patrons inside the store at the time the opportunity to join in. Some were waiting in line. Others were enjoying their meal.

It did not matter what they were doing, because everyone, staff member, visitor, man, woman, child, inside the restaurant bowed their heads in silence as the prayer for Ms. Trish was offered up.

The beautiful moment was caught on video. It was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop.

"We need [Ms. Trish] back here, she is our light. She is a pillar in the community for us," said one of the team members. "Everybody here loves her so much."

We're happy to report that Ms. Trish's surgery went well and that she is recovering. Her fellow team members cannot wait to have her back.
