Some Park ATX customers charged for previously unbilled parking charges

Some customers of the Park ATX app are seeing charges on their accounts for previously unbilled charges from over the summer, says the Austin Transportation Department.

According to Austin Transportation, Passport, the vendor which operates the Park ATX app, says some customers are being charged not for "previously unbilled parking charges" from late July to early September. 

Austin Transportation says that due to a system change in the app, some users were not charged when adding funds to their digital wallet accounts over the summer, and those accounts are being charged now.

Passport issued a statement about the charges:

"Over the past 24 hours we've charged users for those delayed transactions. Rest assured, we've verified that these are all authorized charges reflecting each individual wallet load transaction during the affected time. This issue has impacted less than 20 percent of Park ATX users. We sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused."
