Suspect shoots woman he was arguing with in San Antonio

A 45-year-old man was arrested in San Antonio for shooting a woman on Friday. The woman was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Officers with the San Antonio Police Department were dispatched to the 1900 block of South New Braunfels on Friday, May 24 for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived on scene they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. 

According to witnesses, the woman and the suspect, 45-year-old Jose Villalobos, got into a verbal argument. The woman called a male friend to pick her up and when he arrived, the suspect pulled out a weapon. Villalobos and the victim struggled over the weapon before she was shot. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Villalobos was arrested and booked in jail.
