SXSW announces Keynote Speaker

SXSW 2018 is only five months away. 

SXSW will be making its way back for a 25th year, the popular music, interactive, film event announced Monday, this year’s Keynote Speaker philanthropists Melinda Gates. 

Gates is the co-chair of the Bill & Melinda gates Foundation.  She’s dedicated much of her life to achieving transformational improvements in the health and prosperity of families, communities and societies. The core to her work is empowering women and girls to help them realize their full potential.

Along with Gates featured speakers include: Olivier Assayas and Richard Linklater (Making Film & Episodics), Joe Berlinger, Tamron Hall, and Ryan White (Making Film & Episodics), Michael Dell and Clay Johnston (Health & Wellness), Elvis Presley: The Searcher Featured Session (Music Culture & Stories), Joséphine Goube (Social Impact), Kim Jackson and Alex Winter with Logan Hill (Film & TV Industry), Kim Jackson and Alex Winter with Logan Hill (Film & TV Industry), Ray Kurzweil (Intelligent Future),  Megan Smith (Intelligent Future),  Whitney Wolfe Herd (Startup & Tech Sectors),  Westworld Featured Session (Entertainment Influencers), and Rachel Zoe and Hillary Kerr (Style).

SXSW was founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas.  The event is scheduled to take place on Mar. 9-18.
