Temple couple missing, abandoned car found in Austin

It's been a grueling three days for Talon Scott, as he waits to hear from his sister and her friend who disappeared Friday morning.

“My sister missed her daughter's birthday party that she set up. I know she would not have missed that for the world,” said Scott.

Temple police say 28-year old Jenna Scott and 32-year-old Michael Swearingin left from her home in Temple and were headed Austin. They were last heard from just after 3 am.

“She was going to an appointment in Austin,” said Scott.

“We do know Mr. Swearingin may have had some health issues, we wanted to make sure we try to locate him because of those health issues,” said Ofc. Shawana Neely with the Temple Police Department.

Talon says his sister and Swearingin had a strong platonic friendship....and because of some concerns, she often traveled with him along in the car.

“She has not felt safe by herself, so my parents have done all they can to make sure she was never alone at the house or she always had somebody with her,” said Scott.

Austin police say they found the pair's car here in Austin...a gray Hyundai Genesis. But Scott and Swearingin were nowhere to be found.

“I honestly believe this was an abduction, like a kidnapping,” said Scott.

Talon has not lost hope, and believes his sister and her friend can return home to Temple unharmed. If you know anything, call the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500.
