Texas representatives write letter supporting Dallas to Houston high-speed rail project

Members of the U.S. House representing Texas have written a letter to the U.S. Surface Transportation Board supporting the Dallas to Houston high-speed rail project.

Congressman Colin Allred (TX-32) and Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30) led the bipartisan letter in support of Texas Central’s proposed high-speed rail to connect Dallas and Houston.

Rep. Allred calls this “a once in a generation opportunity,” and Rep. Johnson said the high-speed rail project would “benefit the environment in addition to the economy.”

In the letter, it stated that members of Congress supported this project during last session, and will continue to work to move this project forward.

Representatives John Carter (TX-31), Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07), Sylvia Garcia (TX-29), Lance Gooden (TX-05), Kay Granger (TX-12), Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18), Van Taylor (TX-03), and Roger Williams (TX-25) also signed the letter.
