Thrall High School softball team's video goes viral
It's a video that has gone viral. The Thrall Tigerettes are in for a busy softball season in the coming months. So, the team posted the video to let off some steam and, do a little bonding in the process. Their video has more than 14,000 shares, more than 1 million views.
With internet overnight stardom comes a few bad apples in the comments. The team is looking past those comments, and having some fun. You can call it a little team bonding.
“We had like six hours to spare during our tournament last weekend. So one of the girls said let's make a video.” Chelsea Seggern, senior, said.
That, they did. But the varsity softball team from Thrall, did not expect more than 1 million hits.
“To me it felt really cool that the views just kept getting bigger and bigger,” Jordyn Hubnik, senior, said.
It is putting little Thrall, Texas, population just over 700, on the worldwide map.
“We're not really known. We are a small 2A, coming from nowhere. Hopefully people will get a good laugh or even when they drive by they'll say 'oh yeah thrall, they made up that dance." Seggern said.
You can't tell by looking, but the dance didn't come easy during the planning phase.
“It took us like eight tries to do so, I'd say a good hour,” Seggern said.
“I watched it and I just busted out laughing it was great,” Tyler Harwell, head coach, said.
Harwell, also went to thrall, and even played baseball. He says his team has a bond that runs deep.
“You don't have to worry about any drama or anything. They come out to practice, they have fun,” Harwell said.
It’s clean fun. As always with the internet come some hateful comments.
“Some of them are kind of shocking, but the rest of them are really nice, a lot of people are supporting us,” Hubnik said.
As for those who are being negative toward the video intended to be funny, they have a message:
“It’s good clean fun. If you can't understand that, then just don't watch it, very simple,” Harwell said.
