Three wins for GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz

It was three wins for GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz on Super Tuesday with victories in Texas, Oklahoma and Alaska.

In the Lone Star State, with 100% of precincts reporting, the senator from Texas received 44% of the vote.

That's compared to 27% for Donald Trump, 18% for Senator Marco Rubio and 4% each for Governor John Kasich and Dr. Ben Carson.

"Thank you Texas," says Senator Ted Cruz.

If anyone can beat Trump, Senator Ted Cruz says his campaign is the one to do it.

"Our president should make us all proud, should inspire hope in all of us," says Cruz.

It was a Texas-sized celebration at Cruz's watch party in Stafford on Super Tuesday.

Many analysts said the Lone Star State was a must-win for him, since he hadn't brought home a victory since the Iowa caucuses. Cruz succeeded in getting that done, with more than 40% of the vote.

"Just the ability that he could lay out his policies, he can lay out his ideas," says Shane Cantrell, Cruz supporter.

"Ted Cruz stands for what I stand for and he believes the same things I believe. He's all about the constitution and the bible, I just stand very firmly on those principles," says Stacy Lynch, Cruz supporter.

Cruz had a home-state advantage, along with big endorsements from other state officials. Lt. Governor Dan Patrick was by his side Tuesday night.

But Cruz not reaching the 50% threshold for Texas means he won't get all 155 delegates. That also goes for Oklahoma, which is another victory-state for him.

Cruz is now reaching out to other candidates, and their supporters, to join his campaign.

"Together we will repeal Obamacare, abolish the IRS, pull back the EPA regulators that are killing small businesses, stop amnesty and secure the borders," says Cruz.

Throughout the night supporters stayed strong, showing dedication for a candidate they would like to see become their president.

"Somebody that's going to lead the country and define how they plan to do that," says Cantrell.
