Two displaced after downtown Austin apartment fire

Two people are out of their home after a fire in their 8th story apartment in downtown Austin.

Firefighters were called to a high rise on Trinity just after 10 p.m. on January 13.

Sprinklers went off to put out the fire.

The Austin Housing Authority helped the two people who live in the apartment find a place to spend the night. Everyone else was allowed back into their units.

Officials say that food left on the stove is to blame.

No word on extent or cost of the damages.
