Two men hurt after two separate overnight shootings

Two men are hurt after two separate overnight shootings in Austin. In both cases the Austin Police Department continues to investigate to figure out what happened and are actively looking for the suspects.

The shootings happened nearly three hours and about eight miles apart.

The first one took place on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard just after 11 p.m. on September 25. Police say the victim was shot in the chest. Medics trasnported a man in his 20s to a local hospital with critical life threatening injuries but officials say the victim is expected to survive.

Then just before 2 a.m. this morning (9/26), EMS responded to another shooting off of Rutland Drive. APD says a man was walking when someone came up and shot him in the head. The victim is in his 40s and was taken to the hospital and his current condition is not known. 

Poilice have not released any information at this time on either suspect in either shooting. They ask if you have any information about either case to call police.
