ULA launches Delta IV carrying Air Force satellite

After a delay of more than an hour, United Launch Alliance successfully sent a Delta IV rocket into space on Friday from Space Launch Complex-37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

The rocket will deliver the a communications spacecraft for the Air Force, the 10th Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS-10) satellite.  

WGS-10 is the eighth flight of the Delta IV in the Medium+ (5,4) configuration; all launches in this configuration have delivered WGS missions to orbit. This mission also is the 39th launch of the Delta IV since its inaugural launch in 2002.
