Walmart in Cedar Park closed until further notice after fire
The Walmart in Cedar Park will be closed until further notice, according to a Walmart spokesperson.
This comes after two separate fires were intentionally set within the discount department store early Wednesday morning. A subject was questioned, but no arrests have been made yet.
According to the Cedar park Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the Walmart on Walton Way around 1:44 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. The sprinklers within the store were able to extinguish most of the fires and firefighters were able to control and put out the hot spots once they arrived on scene.
According to Walmart, employees with that store have been reassigned to other stores in the area as to not lose pay as well as to help other stores that may see an increase in customers.
There is no word yet on how much damage was caused by the fires.
This is a developing story and will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
