Wegmans is recalling a brand of grated cheese due to potential listeria contamination.

In a recall notice, the Food and Drug Administration said no illnesses were reported as the result of using the product.

The grated cheese was sold at Wegmans stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. between November 14 and November 24.

Wegmans recalled Locatelli Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese with Wegmans’ scale labels. 

Food and Drug Administration officials said the recall was initiated after the store was informed by its supplier that the product may be contaminated with listeria.

The item is packaged in a plastic tub with UPC 2-77580-XXXXX-7 ("XXXXX" varies based upon weight) The FDA reported that all lot codes have been recalled and removed from store shelves.
