Mayor Steve Adler has said before that one of the pressing matters for the City of Austin is affordability. Wells Fargo has announced it is committing $5 million to help get people into homes.

The bank will match up to $7,500 in down payment assistance. The grant money is for eligible homebuyers looking to purchase property in Travis, Bastrop or Hays Counties.

Families of four, making less than $62,000 a year, are able to apply.

The application event will be held August 26-27 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel downtown.
