Each week FOX 7 chooses an Academy Sports & Outdoors High School Football Player of the Week.

Week 10

Vandegrift junior wide receiver Justin Florence celebrated his birthday by catching five passes for 65 yards. 47 came off one touchdown in the Vipers 27-16 win over Hays which clinched a playoff spot for them.


Week 9

Hutto's Deary'on Milligan redefined the term workhorse in the Hippos recent key district win over Rouse. The running back carried the ball a leg cramping 41 times for 285 yards and two touchdowns.


Week 8

Cedar Ridge quarterback Garrett Sharp produced 400 total yards including 334 passing and four touchdowns in the team's 51-43 win over Round Rock. It was the Raiders first ever win over the Dragons.


Week 7

Rouse running back Devin Tucker rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns in his team's win over Georgetown. Those aren't gaudy stats but they helped the Raiders beat the previously undefeated Eagles 60-27.


Week 5

Cedar Ridge quarterback Garrett Sharp had 275 total yards and five touchdowns, three rushing and two passing, in the Raiders 42-17 win over Hendrickson. Sharp's helped lead his team to an undefeated start to the season so far!


Week 4

Westlake running back Nakia Watson had 33 carries and ran for 216 yards and three touchdowns in the team's 35-21 win over Bowie.


Week 3

LBJ running back/wide receiver Deon Collins touched the ball just eight times against Anderson but definitely made the most of them. He had 197 total yards and two touchdown's in the Jags' 48-30 win over the Trojans averaging 25 yards a touch.


Week 2

Akins running back Kenan Lockhart rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns including touchdown runs of 54 and 46 yards in an Eagles 39-27 comeback win over Austin High.


Week 1

Westlake senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger. Ehlinger led his team to a 32-29 win over #1 ranked and defending state champion Katy by compiling 332 total yards and two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing). Those numbers are extra impressive considering the Katy defense had 10 shutouts last season.
