Jarrett Allen honored at St. Stephen's

How big a deal is making the McDonald's High School All-American Team? St. Stephen's center Jarrett Allen is just the third Austinite to make the prestigious boys squad in the 40 year history of the event.

The organization honored Allen on his high school campus on February 10.

"It feels surreal. I never thought I'd be in this position. As a kid, I always watched the games but I never thought it would be something I could do," Allen said.

"A lot of people say I'm like Tim Duncan but I don't necessarily have someone I model my game after I try to be my own person," Allen added. "A lot of people don't get to play against the best and I feel this will be a good lace to test my skill set."

Allen maintains he will likely make his college decision in April. His next step is helping lead St. Stephen's into the State Department in Houston where the Spartans hope to defend their Southwest Preparatory Conference title.
