Austin weather: Cold and cloudy day

Temperatures are going to be pretty chilly and there isn't expected to be a lot of sun. Zack Shields has all the details in his full forecast.

The Brief

    • Showers are gone but chill, clouds and wind remain
    • Highs in 40s with wind chills in 20s and 30s

AUSTIN, Texas - The rain is over, and it was nice while it lasted. 

We really needed the rain. Over an inch of rain fell for much of Central Texas. 

The showers have hit the road but the clouds, chill and wind will stay with us today with highs in the 40s and wind chills in the 20s and 30s. 

Put away the umbrella, but keep the winter jackets out. 

Driving conditions are just fine this morning with the roads drying out and temperatures above freezing. 

Get ready for a weekend warm-up after another freeze tonight and lots of sunshine.
