Austin police investigating double homicide

AUSTIN, Texas - Austin police say a wife shot and killed her husband before killing herself in their Southeast Austin home.
The backstory:
APD said on June 16 at around 3:11 p.m., the 911 call center received a check welfare call from family members on a husband and wife.
At 6:20 p.m., officers responded to the 4700 block of Oltorf Street in reference to the call.
When officers arrived at the home, they tried to enter, but an aggressive dog delayed their entry.

The Austin Police Department gave an update on a homicide investigation in Southeast Austin.
Once the dog was detained, officers entered the home.
Officers found a man and woman injured inside the home. The man and woman were later pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have identified the couple as 57-year-old Barton Skubi and 52-year-old Kristin Standford. APD says that the investigation has shown that Standford shot and killed Skubi before shooting and killing herself.
