43 arrested during APD's New Year No Refusal

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - 43 people were arrested during the 2018 New Year No Refusal initiative, according to stats released by the Austin Police Department.
The Austin Police Department conducted the initiative from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Saturday, December 29, 2018 to Tuesday, January 1, 2019. During this period, 43 individuals were arrested for driving while intoxicated offenses. The different arrests included:
- Blood Search Warrants: 21
- Consent Breath Samples: 12
- Consent Blood Samples: 10
Of those arrests, the following number had enhanced DWI charges:
- Consent Breath Samples over .15: 2
- Class A Misdemeanor DWI (with prior conviction) : 4
- Felony DWI (2 or more prior convictions) : 4
- Felony DWI Child Passenger : 1
