APD: Armed robbery call prompts SWAT incident at Northeast Austin Rodeway Inn

Austin police say an armed robbery report led to a SWAT call at a Rodeway Inn in Northeast Austin.

According to APD, they received a call from a victim around 3:30 p.m. that they had entered a room at the hotel with a male acquaintance and another male in the room pulled a gun and robbed the victim.

APD responded to the scene and SWAT was called in due to the possibility of armed suspects being barricaded in the hotel room. APD says SWAT diligently searched the room and building, but no suspect with a weapon was found.

APD says there is no ongoing threat to the public and that this is believed to be an isolated incident. Police are still working the scene.
