APD investigating string of burglaries in apartment complexes

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department is investigating a string of burglaries where the same type of property has been taken.

At least 22 burglaries have happened at condos and apartment complexes in the South Lamar Boulevard and Lady Bird Lake area. 

The same type of entry has been used in every robbery, according to police. The entry method is usually a tool that 'defeats the locking mechanism on the door' and the type of property that is taken is 'small but highly valuable.'

The earliest burglary was reported in July.
