APD investigating suspicious death of three-week-old

The Austin Police Department is investigating the suspicious death of a three-week-old boy.

According to police, someone from inside the family's home in southeast Austin reported he was unresponsive. Dispatch received the call at 10 am from the North Bluff Estates on Saturday, July 29, 2017.

First responders with ATCEMS and the Austin Fire Department tried resuscitating the infant.

They were unsuccessful. The three-week-old was pronounced dead 45 minutes after emergency crews arrived. According to police officers with APD, multiple disturbance calls from the same home were received last night.

"At this time, it is unknown whether those disturbance calls are directly related to this morning's incident. Detectives and the medical examiner are on scene conducting their investigation to see if they are related," said Rheannon Cuningham with the Austin Police Department.

The identity of the infant has not been released at this time.

This is a developing story and will be updated with more information as it becomes available.
