Around town weekend events with FOX 7 (December 6 - 8)
AUSTIN, Texas - Holiday season is in full swing! There's only two more weekends until Christmas, and there's a lot happening around town!
Downtown Holiday Stroll | December 7
This free event starts Saturday night at 5 p.m. and will run until 10 p.m. The stroll will take place from 9th street up to the Captial building and will include live music, a Christmas sing-along, and the Downtown tree lighting, which is sponsored by FOX 7! There will also be some pop-up shops and a lot of stores which will stay open for the event. Come out to meet some of your favorite FOX 7 personailites.
Blue Genie Art Bazaar | November 6 - December 24
An Austin holiday season staple is open until Christmas Eve! The Blue Genie Art Bazaar has thousands of original works from serious pieces of art to quirky, fun items. All items at the bazaar are handmade by local and regional artists. Photography, glasswork, jewelry and much more will be up for sale from over 200 artists! There will also be a full bar and light bites. This annual market is conveniently located under one roof with a centralized checkout. The bazaar is free and runs from 10 AM to 10 PM daily. It is located across from the ACC Highland Campus.

The holiday season is one of the most dangerous times on our nation's highways and Mothers Against Drunk Driving is hoping to change that. They want to remind you to have a plan in place before the celebrations begin. Stephen Stewart and Jaime Guitierrez with MADD talk about that and their upcoming race.
The holiday season is one of the most dangerous times on our nation's highways and Mothers Against Drunk Driving is hoping to change that. MADD is hosting a 5K race to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving. The race will happen at 8 a.m. at the Domain on Sunday morning. You can still register to race here.
