Austin animal shelters to waive adoption fees Thanksgiving weekend

Austin animal shelters have been at capacity recently, with more than 1,000 dogs and cats waiting for their forever home.

So, if a new pet is on your holiday wish list, local shelters have the perfect "Black Friday" deal.

This weekend, Austin Animal Center and Austin Pets Alive! are hosting a "Black FURiday" adoption event. Friday, Saturday and Sunday adoption fees will be waived.
