Austin Jingle Bell 5K held to benefit MADD
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Runners fight back against drunk driving at te 23rd annual Jingle Bell 5K.
About 600 runners participated in the event on Dec. 9. For more than two decades it's been put on by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
The organization says the race is held close to Christmas which is when more drunk driving crashes tend to occur. It serves as a reminder to people to Austin and everywhere to plan a sober ride before drinking.
Money from the run helps support the campaign to prevent drivers from getting behind the wheel of car after drinking.
