Austin Police investigating possible rock throwing attack

Austin Police are investigating what appears to be another rock-throwing attack. It happened around 10:30 this morning.

Police say a driver was heading southbound on I-35, near Dean Keaton, when the car was hit by something. The car's windshield was damaged by the impact, but it's not clear if anyone was hurt.

At this time is not clear if this incident is a rock throwing attack or the result of some kind of road-debris.

If it is confirmed this would be more than 50 rock attacks in Austin since the summer of 2014.

The Austin Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for the arrest and prosecution of the person behind the rock throwings on I-35.

The Greater Austin Crime Commission is funding the reward. According to Austin Police, there have been 52 incidents on the lower deck of I-35 along the stretch near the UT Campus.

APD is asking for anyone with information to call, (512) 974-5270.
