AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - People are flocking to Popeyes restaurants hoping to score a taste of their new chicken sandwich.
Drive thru lines are around the block at many Austin locations and customers are finding several of them are sold out of the sandwiches completely.
Popeyes hyped their sandwich on social media, challenging people to test it against Chick-fil-A's version. Both restaurants offer a spicy and original version complete with their own sauces and pickles.
Popeyes reportedly got over $23 million worth of advertising for free off of social media hype alone.
