Austin weather: Arctic air moves into Central Texas

We expect to see our coldest air of the winter in the coming days.

A cold weather advisory is in place from midnight until 9 a.m. on Sunday morning, but that's just the beginning.

Saturday Forecast: Arctic air arrives

A cold front moved through Central Texas on Saturday, and we will really start to feel its impacts overnight.

Winds will bring in the arctic air and temperatures will drop quickly overnight.

Be sure to bring the pets inside and drip your faucets.

Sunday Forecast: Frigid Morning

The cold temperatures will be obvious when you wake up on Sunday.

Temperatures will be in the low 30s and it will be breezy.

The wind chill is really what will get you. On Sunday morning, wind chills will be in the teens and some of us to the west could even see them fall into the single digits.

High temperatures will hit the 40s, but it will feel like 30s because of wind.

By the end of Sunday, the winds will begin to slow down.

Monday Forecast: Even Colder

Sunday night into Monday things will get even colder.

Temperatures will be in the 20s in the morning across Central Texas.

Highs will climb to the 30s, but our actual temperatures won't be far above freezing, if at all.

If you have to go out on Monday, be sure you bundle up.

Tuesday Forecast: Snow possible

Monday night into Tuesday would be our best shot at snow.

We could also see a mix of precipitation that would have some ice mixed in.

What we don't know:

The model numbers keep changing for how much snow we expect.

The areas to the south seem the most likely to see ice and snow.
