Authorities investigating Pflugerville apartment complex shooting

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas - Authorities are investigating a shooting at a Pflugerville apartment complex at Heatherwild and Wells Branch.

Officials say it all started at around 11:15 p.m. when police responded to a call of shots fired. When officers arrived they say the suspect was still shooting.

After a brief standoff, the person responsible was taken into custody. He is currently in the hospital with unknown injuries.

25 residents were evacuated. Officials did not say if anyone else was hurt.

One witness spoke to FOX 7 Austin and says she lives directly across from the shooter. She says she hid in the bathroom and the closet for a couple of hours.

Authorities say there is no longer a threat to the public.
