AUSTIN, Texas - The Central Texas Food Bank is holding its third emergency food distribution event to help those struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the most recent event in Del Valle, the organization says that 1,600 families received help and it expects a similar turnout at today's event at Toney Burger Stadium located at 3200 Jones Road.
Those who attend today's drive-thru distribution will receive both a food and hygiene box. Distribution begins at 9 a.m. and goes until noon.
Drivers are asked to enter at the north side of the facility, from the eastbound 290 Frontage Road between Brodie and Westgate. You're asked to stay in your care and volunteers will assist. No walk-ups will be allowed.

The food box will contain 28 pounds of non-perishable staples which could include items like peanut butter, brown rice, canned tuna and chicken, and canned fruit.
The hygiene kit contains items like shampoo, shaving essentials, baby wipes, and toothpaste.
Due to the pandemic, resources have been stretched thin but the food bank says it continues to do its best to help as many people as possible.
As demand continues, the Central Texas Food Bank is always in need of additional resources. If you'd live to give a monetary donation or sign up to volunteer you can get more details on the food bank's website.
