Cold weather shelters activated in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - Cold weather shelters have been activated in Austin for Tuesday night.

Single adult men or women needing shelter are directed to report to the ARCH by 5:15 p.m.

Families in need of shelter should report to the Salvation Army by 7 p.m.

Anyone needing more information is asked to call the shelter hotline at 512-305-4233.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s tonight and hit freezing temperatures in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
