Dallas ICE removes Romanian national wanted for human trafficking

On Monday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement released information about the removal of Ionel Cirpaci from the United States. He is a 61-year-old Romanian national who was wanted in his home country for human trafficking.

Returned to Romania

What we know:

On Jan. 30, via a commercial flight, Cirpaci was released into the custody of Romania officials without incident, according to ICE.

An immigration judge in Sterling, Va., ordered Cirpaci’s final removal from the U.S. on June 7, 2024.

What we don't know:

ICE officials have not said where Cirpaci has been since June 7, 2024.

The details about his charges for human trafficking have not been released.
