Man arrested in connection to East Austin murder of homeless woman
AUSTIN, Texas - A man was arrested in connection to the murder of a homeless woman in East Austin, officials said.

What we know:
Frank Bonner Jr., 32, of Austin, was the suspect wanted by Austin police for the murder of 35-year-old Kelly Meazell.
On Jan. 16, members of the US Marshals initiated a fugitive investigation and arrested Bonner at a bus stop at the intersection of Manor Road and Rogge Lane without incident.
Bonner was transferred to the Austin Police Department and was booked into the Travis County Jail.
What we don't know:
Austin police did not provide information on why Bonner killed Meazell in an East Austin parking lot.

The backstory:
The Austin Police Department says a woman, whose body was found in an East Austin parking lot, is believed to have been murdered.
Police said on Jan. 9, around 1:44 a.m., officers responded to a check welfare urgent call at 5707 Manor Road.
The caller said they saw a body in the parking lot lying in a pool of blood.
The body was located, and life-saving measures were administered, but the victim was pronounced dead at 2:11 a.m.
Police did not specify what kind of injury the woman suffered, but there were signs of trauma around the victim's neck.
The body was later identified as 35-year-old Kelly Meazell.
