Fire at Burger King on North Lamar

The Burger King location in the 9500 block of North Lamar is being declared a total loss after a fire earlier today.

Crews responded to the fire at around 8 a.m. They say they arrived and saw heavy smoke. The fire began in the kitchen and spread to the attic which forced crews to battle the fire from the outside.

No one was hurt and no other buildings were damaged. 

Officials say the cause of the fire was accidental and started in the french fry fryer.

Damage is estimated at almost $150,000.
