FOX 7 Discussion: Governor's emergency items for lawmakers
AUSTIN,Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Texas Governor Greg Abbott gave his biennial State of the State speech Tuesday morning where he listed emergency items he wants lawmakers to tackle this session.
They include education funding, teacher pay, school safety, property tax reform and disaster response reform.
FOX 7 Austin’s Mike Warren talked to Travis County GOP Chairman Matt Mackowiak and Sam Robles from Progress Texas about whether or not Gov. Abbott overloaded lawmakers with emergency items and if these issues can all be addressed before the session ends.
