A Frisco teenager will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the murders of his parents.
A Collin County jury found 18-year-old Zachary Callens guilty on Friday and handed him a life sentence Monday morning.
Callens was just 16 when he shot and killed his parents, Ryan and Maria Elena Callens, in their home two years ago.
The teen’s friends said he complained parents were too strict. Collin County prosecutors said at the time he was angry that he was being punished for not doing his homework.
The judge who certified him as an adult called him a potential danger to society who showed no remorse for the murders.
