KYLE, Texas - Hays Consolidated Independent School District says due to the coronavirus it will be suspending normal operations at its schools and offices until April 5 and at that time it will determine its next steps.
Officials say this means that all in-person classes and activities are canceled until that date and the district says it believes this action is necessary to help the community slow the spread of coronavirus.
Teachers and campuses will provide specific information to students after spring break about online and at-home instruction.
The district will continue to provide meal service to students on free and reduced lunch plans and that service will begin no later than March 25.
Employees and staff will still be paid during this emergency suspension and all critical operation district staff will be on duty to assist with emergency operations.
More information from the district can be found here.
