Hays County deputies searching for missing woman

Hays County deputies are searching for a woman whose car was found ditched in a field in Kyle last week. FOX 7 spoke with her parents.

"It's hard every day. When I wake up it's hard to avoid depression. I have to keep my mind centered on God or it would just be hard to cope,” said David Parker.

David Parker's daughter Brittany has been missing since Tuesday, July 12th. On the 14th, Hays County sheriff's deputies called to say they'd found the 26-year-old's vehicle with the keys still in it in a field in Kyle.

"I'm hoping Brittany just decided to go someplace and is okay, but when her car is abandoned and she doesn't answer her phone it does lead to extreme concern,” said Parker.

The parkers say their daughter has struggled with alcohol and drugs. This mug shot most resembles how she may appear today. She is 5'4" and estimated to be around 100 pounds.

They say she may have traveled to Houston.

Then, there are the other scenarios playing out in her parent's minds.

"If anyone is keeping her against her will you need to give her up because you will be caught. I promise you will be caught,” said Parker.

While deputies work to find answers, Brittany's parents have this message should she happen to see this story.

"Everybody's looking for you, but you're not in trouble. You just need to call mom or dad or if you're being kept against your will you need to call 9-1-1 and ask for help sooner rather than later,” said Parker.

"She's loved and we're waiting for her,” said mom Beverly Parker.

There is a $1,000 reward for any information leading to Brittany Parker's whereabouts. Call the Hays County Sheriff's Office at 512-393-7896.
