Lake Travis ISD kicks off school year with grand opening of Bee Cave Middle School

Lake Travis ISD is kicking off the new school year with the grand opening of a new multi-million dollar campus.

Bee Cave Middle School is home of the Raiders and hundreds of students are getting ready for their first day of classes.

The more than $76 million facility is located off of Highway 71 and the project took about eighteen months to complete.

The campus is 240,000 square feet and was built to accommodate 1,200 students. It features outdoor science and art areas, an outdoor gathering spot and several multi-purpose places for students, faculty and staff.

A Lake Travis ISD spokesperson for the school district says Bee Cave Middle School is part of their multi-million bond project that was approved by voters in 2017.

Other school districts starting school today include:

  • Bastrop
  • Coupland
  • Fredericksburg
  • Giddings
  • Lago Vista
  • Lockhart
