Man arrested after deadly crash in Round Rock

A man has been arrested and charged after a deadly wrong way crash on I-35 in Round Rock. A motorcyclist was killed in the crash that happened between Highway 79 and Old Settlers Road around 4 a.m.

32-year-old John McClintock of San Marcos is being held in the Williamson County Jail. McClintock has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

APD says they received multiple calls about a car, who officials say was driven by McClintock, going the wrong way on the southbound lanes of the interstate.

Officers caught up with the driver around Braker or Parmer. The driver didn't stop and led police on a pursuit into Round Rock. Investigators say the driver got on the interstate somewhere near the 183 flyover and drove 14 miles north in the southbound lane.

Police say that's where the car hit a motorcyclist and another vehicle near Highway 79. The motorcyclist died at the scene. The driver of the other car was not hurt.

No information about the victim has currently been released.

The southbound lanes of I-35 in Round Rock reopened at around 10:30 a.m. after being closed for around six hours.
