Man arrested for stealing washer and dryer from Lowe's

Austin Police arrested John Lloyd Carline, 44, for allegedly stealing from multiple Lowe's stores across Austin.

According to police, on February 4, 2016, an employee said they saw Carline walk out of Lowe's, on the 13000 block of N Hwy I-35 Svrd Sb., with a washing machine without paying for it.

The report states, after checking surveillance video and still images, Lowe's Loss Prevention employees recognized Carline and were able to connect him to six other thefts, four of which occurred in the city of Austin.

Police said, Carline also stole a washer and dryer from a Lowe's on the 8000 block of Shoal Creek Blvd. on October 14, 2015. A Lowe's employee said someone, later identified as Carline, walked into the store and took a washer and dryer, valued at $749 each, from the display floor.

Lowe's employees said Carline later admitted to the other thefts.

Carline was arrested and taken to the Travis County Jail where he is being held on a $7,500 bond.
