Man confesses to running over cousin multiple times

A man is dead after Williamson County Sheriff's Office say he was run over by a driver and deputies say the victim knew the suspect behind the wheel.

Williamson County authorities say a man was killed Saturday morning when an argument inside of a home spilled out into the street. Deputies say the victim was run over by a car multiple times on Red Oak Lane in Leander around 4:34 a.m.

Authorities believe the driver is related to the victim and could be a cousin. "There was an ongoing argument and concern there. His friend or family member said to the victim why don't we go ahead and leave," said Chody. 

Witnesses told deputies they saw the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Jesse Vickers, follow 28-year-old Fredrick John Goodrow out of the home, get into a car, and run him over. "The suspect than turned around and the victim was in the middle of the road and the suspect ran over the victim a second time," said Chody. Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody says Vickers tried running over Goodrow a third time but that a bystander threw themselves onto Goodrow causing the suspect to swerve.

"A third party jumped onto the victim as to protect the victim," said Chody. 

According to deputies Vickers was tracked down a short time later, and say he confessed. "We found the suspect in his residence where we believe he left the vehicle which is a known area where he frequents just down the street."

Vickers has been booked into the Williamson County Jail and charged with murder.
