Message to gun owners: Responsibility is in your hands
Across Austin the size of license to carry handgun courses are increasing rapidly. Some classes have doubled in size in just a matter of weeks. The rate of gun purchases and those participating in courses coincides with the new open carry law set to take effect on January 1st.
"They're worried about terrorism, they're worried about protecting their family members and their loved ones," Michael Cargill, owner of Central Texas Gunworks, said.

"Sometimes just having the license just gives you peace of mind," he said.
