Mueller neighborhood gets new bike lanes

A new study released from the University of Colorado-Denver says cities with separated and protected bike lanes are less dangerous for cyclists, motorists and pedestrians.

A Mueller neighborhood just got new bike lanes in an effort to make the area safer and residents wasted no time getting to use them.

The new two-way protected bikeway provides an improved bike route to Maplewood Elementary School. As part of the project the sidewalks program helped create a new path connection to Patterson Park.

Additional improvements include adding sight lines at alleys and intersections and improving the trail crossing near Tom Miller Street.

In order to make room for these improvements, on-street parking was consolidated to the south side between Tom Miller Street and Camacho Street.
