National PrepareAthon Day!
Today is National PrepareAthon Day!
America's PrepareAthon! is an opportunity for individuals, organizations, and communities to prepare for specific hazards through group discussions, drills, and exercises.
The goal of this campaign is to increase the number of individuals who:
- Understand which disasters could happen in their community
- Know what to do to be safe and mitigate damage
- Take action to increase their preparedness
- Participate in community resilience planning
Research shows there is a strong relationship between talking about preparedness and taking action. America’s PrepareAthon! provides easy-to-use branding and promotional materials for you to download and use when implementing and promoting your day of action. Additionally, there are communications tools including social media tips, tools, and templates. You can also access materials in six additional languages.
