New Braunfels PD: Car flees from police, three detained

Three people have been detained after fleeing from police Tuesday afternoon in New Braunfels.

The New Braunfels Police Department says officers were called to Dove Crossing and Eagle Pass around 3:20 p.m. for reports of a woman being forced into a car by a man. Officers arrived and attempted a traffic stop on the dark gray Nissan, but the driver fled the scene at a high rate of speed, driving erratically. Police say items were also thrown from the car.

The car nearly crashed into another vehicle and an officer shot out one of the car's tires. The Nissan then cut across a median in an attempt to turn around and leave, but another officer forced the car into a tree using his patrol car.

Two women and a man were inside the car. The man and one of the women were transported to Resolute Health Hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries. All three were detained and are being questioned by detectives, says NBPD.

The portion of County Line Road from Chartwell to Drawbridge Trail remains closed due to the investigation.
