New details about reported false kidnappings in New Braunfels

New Braunfels police have arrested three people who they say made false reports about aggravated kidnappings. 

Police say on January 16 of this year, 35-year-old Michael Neumann reported a suspect entered his vehicle, displayed a gun and told him to drive. He also reported a brief struggle before the suspect got out of the car and took off.

The following day on January 17 a nearly identical case was reported by 21-year-old Sabrina Quintero. She says she drove in circles near the New Braunfels Airport for two hours before stabbing the man in the leg.

Detectives found the claims to be false in both cases.

Neuman and Quintero are now charged with filing a false report. Quintero is also charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence for allegedly staging evidence to support her claim. That's a third degree felony.

A third kidnapping claim was also reported to police on January 20. 25-year-old Rebecca Palmer was involved in a crash and police say, as a way to avoid charges, she claimed someone entered her vehicle and told her to keep driving despite the accident. Palmer was arrested and charged with false report to a peace officer.
