A new petition has been filed to remove Williamson County D.A. Jana Duty from office. This latest action comes from Williamson County Attorney Dee Hobbs who claims Duty is incompetent and has engaged in official misconduct. A citizen's group had filed a similar petition in June.
That case was out on hold pending a decision by the County Attorney.
In Hobb's petition, he states he wants the court to suspend Duty and then appoint a temporary replacement. A former removal trial may not happen until early October. Duty's term in office ends in January.
