Officer involved shooting in North Austin
An investigation is underway after an officer-involved shooting in North Austin.
The shooting happened off of I-35 near Rundberg Lane.
According to the Austin Police Department, a man was threatening people with a bowie knife in a parking lot of a business off of I-35 near Rundberg Lane. When officers arrived on scene, the man ran across both the north and southbound lanes of I-35 to the other side of the highway.
A perimeter was set up for hours.
The suspect was found hiding in a car behind a business.
The suspect is reported to have minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. He was shot in the shoulder and was bit by a K9 unit. No officers were injured.
